Following the initial launch of Fujifilm Neopan Acros II 100 in Japan, Fujifilm will introduce the black and white film in selected overseas markets in early 2020. The new Fujifilm ACROS II film has all the beloved features of its predecessor. Including unsurpassed high resolution, fine grain and sharpness. The ACROS II is available in 35mm and 120mm formats.
Fujifilm stopped selling black and white film in 2018 as demand for film declined and it became more difficult to purchase raw materials. Due to the recent interest of millennials and GenZs, who have a penchant for film, Fujifilm developed a plan to revive its black and white film series to meet new market demands.
Fujifilm ACROS II uses Fujifilm’s proprietary Super Fine-Σ particle technology. Fujifilm achieved this level of image quality with high sensitivity because of its long history of film development and manufacturing, which enabled it to precisely control the size and composition of silver halide grains in photographic film, contributing to the final image quality and aesthetics in prints.
The sharpness achieved in ACROS II film is the result of fine textures. This makes it an ideal film to use in a wide range of photography types. Including landscape, portraits, commercial, architectural and even astronomy and night photography. Building on its predecessor, ACROS II offers a slightly higher contrast gradation in highlight areas compared to conventional ACROS film.
